HURRICANE CHARLEY 6:30 A.M. - Thursday - 8/12/04

Again, please reference prior post (9:30 p.m. - Wednesday) on Charlie. Little if any changes to make to that this morning.

TPC has shifted track to the left…and another leftward nudge will likely come in the 11:00 a.m. package.

Only change I would make to my prior post is to indicate a landfall closer to Cedar Key end of the swath than to the southern end near Sarasota. There is a small chance….but a chance that it comes in to the left of Cedar Key…..more on that after the 12Z guidance arrives and I get a look at new recon and satellite data later today.

Bottom line….look for a 100-115 mph hurricane to hit the west coast of Florida in 36 hours….Hurricane Watches will likely go up further north on the west coast of Florida later this morning.

Landfall between Cedar Key and Sarasota (closer to Cedar Key than Sarasota) in about 36 hours. If you live in this area your preparations should be underway…..if you live to the left of Cedar Key westward to Panama City…..please pay attention to future updates in case a leftward track shift needs to be made.

Stay tuned…………..
